The big platforms were designed for countries where everyone has a bank card, a postal address and fiber. Here, people order by message, pay with Mobile Money and get deliveries “at the crossroads, near the pharmacy”.
Boutora starts from that reality without giving up anything else: an online store you design yourself, a catalog with variants and collections, payments through the operators everyone already uses, VAT and invoices when you need them, and conversation built into the journey rather than bolted on.
And because commerce doesn't stop at borders, Boutora also bills in euros, displays multiple currencies, accepts cards and offers an API: for the diaspora, for export, and for brands that sell elsewhere.
These roots are an advantage, not a limit. What was built for 3G in Cotonou holds up just as well in Paris or Montreal.
