How can we help?

Concise, step-by-step guides designed for reading on mobile.

Getting started

The steps from sign-up to your first order.

Create my account and my store
  1. Go to “Create my store” and enter your email, your WhatsApp number and a password.
  2. Confirm your email address with the code you receive.
  3. Name your store: its address (…/s/your-store-name) is generated automatically and can be changed.
  4. Choose your category and country: currency, local payment methods and time zone are set accordingly.
  5. Your store gets a 14-day trial of the Business plan, with no credit card required.
Add my first products
  1. In “Products”, click “New product”.
  2. Enter the name, the price in your store's currency and one or more photos (they are compressed automatically).
  3. Add variants if needed (size, color), each with its own price.
  4. Save: the product is visible as soon as its status is “active”.

Tip: use photos taken in daylight on a plain background.

Publish and share my store
  1. Check your number under “WhatsApp”: this is the number that will receive orders.
  2. In “Dashboard”, click “Publish”.
  3. Copy your link or download the QR code, then share it in your WhatsApp status, your Instagram or Facebook bio, and your messages.
  4. Place a test order from your phone to check what a customer receives.

Store and catalog

Customize the theme, organize products, import an existing catalog.

Customize my store with the editor
  1. Open “Appearance”: the list of sections is on one side, the preview in the middle, settings on the other side.
  2. Click a section in the preview to open its settings, or drag it to move it.
  3. Use “Add section” to choose from the library or reuse a saved section.
  4. Check the “Quality” tab: accessibility, performance and SEO scores update in real time, with fixes you can apply in one click.
  5. Click “Publish” when you are satisfied with the result. Previous versions remain available.

Tip: save a section to reuse it on other pages.

Generate a first version with AI

From the editor, describe your business in one sentence: the AI prepares a complete proposal (colors, typography, sections and copy). One generation per store is included; further generations use AI credits. Nothing is published without your approval, and every element remains editable.

Import an existing catalog
  1. Export your catalog from your current platform as a CSV file.
  2. In “Products”, click “Import” and drop the file.
  3. Check the suggested column mapping: the Shopify export format is recognized out of the box.
  4. Run the import, then check a few products before publishing.

Import is available from the Business plan. For an automated migration, the REST API lets you create products one by one.

Variants, options and collections

A variant has its own price, photo and stock (size S, M, L). An option adds a choice or an extra at checkout (gift wrapping, hot sauce).

Collections organize your products: manually, or automatically with a rule (all new arrivals, everything on sale). A collection can become a section on your home page.

Selling on WhatsApp

Receiving orders and handling them day to day.

How does an order arrive on WhatsApp?

When a customer confirms their cart, Boutora saves the order and opens WhatsApp on their phone with a prefilled message: reference, products, quantities, delivery method and total. They simply tap “Send”. You receive the message on your usual number.

The order also appears in your dashboard, even if the customer does not send the WhatsApp message: you can then contact them.

Do I need WhatsApp Business?

No. A regular WhatsApp account is enough to receive orders. WhatsApp Business adds quick replies and a catalog, but Boutora works with both. Official WhatsApp (automated messages, shared inbox, campaigns) is included from the Business plan and requires a Meta Business account, which we help you set up.

Confirm, prepare and close an order
  1. Open the order from the notification or from “Orders”.
  2. Click “Confirm” once payment is received or the order is confirmed by phone.
  3. Set it to “Ready” once packed, then to “Out for delivery” or “Picked up”.
  4. The customer receives a tracking link. You can also send them a WhatsApp message in one click from the order.

Payments and Mobile Money

Get paid directly, with no Boutora commission and a record of every payment.

Turn on Mobile Money payments
  1. In “Payments”, enable the operator you want (MTN MoMo, Moov Money, Wave, Orange Money… depending on your country).
  2. Enter the number to be credited and the account holder's name exactly as the customer should see them.
  3. Optionally add instructions (e.g. “Put the order reference as the payment description”).
  4. At checkout, the customer sees this information, sends the money and enters the transaction reference.
  5. You verify receipt on your phone, then click “Confirm payment” in the order.
Cash on delivery or at pickup

Enable “Cash” in “Payments”. The order is marked “to be collected”; when you hand it over, mark it “Paid”. You can limit this option to orders below a certain amount.

Connect an online gateway (FedaPay, KkiaPay, PayDunya, Stripe)

From the Starter plan, if you have an account with one of these providers, enter your API keys in “Payments”: they are encrypted and never displayed. Payments confirmed by the gateway automatically mark the order as “paid”. Any provider fees remain your responsibility; Boutora adds no commission.

Can an order be marked paid by mistake?

No. An order is only “paid” if you confirm it manually or if a connected gateway confirms it with a signed message. A reference entered by the customer only sets it to “awaiting verification”.

Delivery and pickup

Zones, fees, time slots and tracking: organize how orders are handed over.

Create my delivery zones
  1. In “Delivery”, click “New zone”.
  2. Name it (e.g. “Cotonou center”), set the fee and the announced lead time.
  3. Optionally set a minimum order amount and a free-delivery threshold.
  4. Order your zones: the customer picks theirs at checkout.
Offer in-store pickup with time slots

Enable “Pickup” in “Delivery” and enter your address. From the Starter plan, define time slots (day, start time, end time, maximum number of orders): the customer picks an available slot. This works particularly well for restaurants and bakeries.

Give my courier access

From the Business plan, invite them in “Team” with the “Staff” role. They only see orders to deliver, can mark them “Delivered” and contact the customer, with no access to prices, payments or settings.

The customer tracking link

A signed tracking link is generated for every order. It requires no account, shows the status in real time and expires after a set period. The customer receives it in the WhatsApp message and on the confirmation page.

International and invoicing

Multiple currencies, VAT, numbered invoices and a blog.

Show my prices in another currency
  1. Open “Currencies” and add the currencies you want to offer.
  2. Choose the rounding rule (for example to the nearest thousand) and, if needed, an exchange margin.
  3. Set an exact price in a currency when automatic conversion is not suitable.
  4. Save: your shoppers can then switch currency from the store header.

Payments are still collected in your store's currency: multi-currency display informs shoppers without changing your accounting.

Apply VAT and issue invoices

In “Taxes”, enter your rates per country and whether your prices include tax. The matching wording appears in the cart and on the invoice. Each paid order can produce a numbered invoice, and each refund a credit note. Numbering is continuous with no gaps, and can be exported for your accountant.

Publish blog posts

The blog supports your organic search visibility: recipes, size guides, care tips. Create your categories, write your posts (AI can suggest a draft), schedule publication, and show your latest posts in a home page section. An RSS feed and sitemap are generated automatically.

Assistant and AI connector

Manage your store from Claude or ChatGPT, with controlled access.

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to my store
  1. Open “AI Connectors” in your dashboard.
  2. Choose your tool: Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Cursor or another compatible client.
  3. On Claude.ai and ChatGPT (Business plan and above), add the connector with the address shown, then authorize access to your store: no token to copy.
  4. For a local tool, create a token, choose its permissions and duration, then paste it into the tool's configuration.

A token's secret is shown only once: keep it in your password manager.

What can and cannot the assistant do?

It can view your sales, stock and orders and, if you allow it, edit products, adjust stock, update order statuses or create promotions.

It can never trigger a payment or refund, change your team, subscription or payment keys, or delete your store. Every call is logged and any access can be revoked in one click.

Can my products be found by my customers' assistants?

Yes, if your store is published. Assistants can browse your public catalog, check availability and prepare a cart link, which your customer opens and confirms themselves. No customer data, orders or payments are exposed, and you can switch this off at any time.

Subscription and billing

Trial, plans, paying for your subscription, and your data.

What does the free trial include?

14 days of the Business plan from sign-up: unlimited products, official WhatsApp and shared inbox, customer list, loyalty, custom domain, advanced reports. No card required.

What happens when the trial ends?

You receive a reminder 3 days and then 1 day before it ends. Without a paid plan by the end date, your store is paused: customers see “Store temporarily closed” and can no longer place orders. No data is deleted: your dashboard stays accessible, and the store reopens automatically as soon as your plan's payment is confirmed.

Pay for or change my subscription
  1. In “Subscription”, choose Starter, Business or Scale, monthly or yearly (2 months free). The price is in CFA francs or euros depending on your store's country.
  2. Pay by Mobile Money or card.
  3. Your invoice is available right away on the same screen.
  4. To upgrade, click “Change”: the difference is prorated. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the period.
Export or delete my data

You can export your orders as CSV from the Starter plan, and your products and customers from Business, or request an export from support (all plans). To delete your account, go to “Settings”: the store is first archived for 30 days, then permanently erased.
